Why My Gears are Grinding

Job hunting | December 1, 2011

In this economy, jobs are hard to come by. So what do you do when you’re looking for a new job? Well there are a few easy things to do. First off think of things you are good at. Have you worked somewhere before? Are you good with people? Are you very organized? Things like that can make or break you in the search for a job. Next, consider the type of work you are going for do you want to work where you talk to people a lot? Or do you want to work somewhere where you barely talk to anyone? Do you want to work night or days? Next, you need to get your timing down perfectly. Businesses hire more during holidays and summer. More importantly though, make sure the place is actually hiring. Lastly, when all else fails, you need to broaden your horizons. I have found that most of the jobs I didn’t want because of my lack of interest or knowledge in the field have actually turned out to be amusing. So the one thing you really have to remember is to keep an open mind about opportunity and most importantly don’t get discouraged and give up. Happy hunting!
